What did you want to do in 1994?

While cleaning my office, I found a list I'd written of "Things To Do in 1994." I asked other people what they'd wanted to do back in 1994. The replies were funny and inspiring. I wanted to collect them all - sorry if there are duplicates. And my apologies for clogging your tweetstream this morning.

  1. While cleaning office bookshelf, found list I wrote: "things to do in 1994." Most weren't tasks, but things I had to learn.
  2. I was 19, and have memory of being a hot mess back then, but perhaps I wasn't entirely. Nice to give credit to my past self.
  3. @SmartBitches At least u were 19. I'm 40 and I'm still a hot mess! lol.
  4. @SmartBitches lol I just had a good (and baffling) time trying to imagine what *I* woulda put on my 1994 list :D @shilohwalker
  5. @Limecello @SmartBitches hhmmm... well, I was a senior then... mine would have been...graduate, get the scholarship...WRITE A BOOK
  6. @tatejackson2 I'm 37 and in some ways I am definitely still messy too! :)
  7. @chigirl30 some of it, and other things are perennial works in progress, like "be in better shape physically" :)
  8. @BrigidKemmerer some, yeah. Like appreciating and accepting people they way they are. Sometimes, anyway. :)
  9. @SmartBitches I was 13 or 14 and my goal was to medal in figure skating and dance in a ballet company. I did one of those ;)
  10. And a piece of my "things to do in 1994" list. Bathing was important! http://pic.twitter.com/x6KpFrZv
  11. @SmartBitches That's what my to do list looks like now! Well, that and write a book...
  12. @SmartBitches I remember in grade 9 we had to write letters to our future graduating selves. Mine said I was going to be a great writer.:)
  13. @SmartBitches Which helped me a lot because for 2 years I'd wanted to be a teacher but was conflicted.
  14. @SmartBitches Aw, how sweet to find something like that. And you still look so much like your picture there!
  15. @SmartBitches Depending on the day, I either wanted wings or to be a jockey. No movement on either front, I'm afraid. Sorry, 4-yr-old self.
  16. @SmartBitches My professional goal at 14 was to "not work a boring office job." I win!
  17. @SmartBitches I wanted to see the Lion King. I was eight. And I did! *lol*
  18. @SmartBitches In 1994, I was 7. I wanted to learn good enough cursive that I would get to do cursive practice in pen instead of pencil.
