Flavours of Fall Festival

The Flavours of Fall Festival featured countless events for people of all ages gathered Saturday in Belleville's downtown core for free events.

  1. One of the most popular activities was seedless pumpkin carving. Over the course of the entire day hundreds of pumpkins were carved into masterpieces.
  2. The children's version of seedless pumpkin carving was pumpkin painting.
  3. The Chili eating contest featured ten different chili's cooked by ten different competitors. Some of the options included a bean-less chili, a vegan chili and even a "holy chili" cooked by a priest.
  4. The weather was the biggest uncertainty of the day. The beginning of the festival was very slow because people feared the rain. At around 11:30 a.m. the sky cleared. The event picked up and for the rest of the day the streets and events were packed.

  6. The Canadian National Railway Company provided a fully operational miniature train for families to ride on throughout the day.
  7. Multiple musical acts preformed on the downtown main stage Saturday, including a some classic rock covers and plenty of folk music acts.
  8. The Investors Group tent offered free warmed apple cider and a chance to win $10,000.
  9. At around 10:45 a.m. the Autism Celebration March passed by me on Front Street in downtown Belleville.
  10. Another one of the activites centered around Belleville's youth, the hula hoop toss.
