Culture celebrated in Belleville

Downtown Belleville was alive with activity over the weekend as the city enjoyed numerous cultural events and displays from local organizations, clubs and businesses.

  1. Local artists were represented in downtown Belleville for Culture Days. Paintings and photography were on display and a piano was put into the middle of Front Street for anyone to play.
  2. People gathered on the closed streets to enjoy activities and performances.
  3. A major element of Culture Days was for people to discover the history behind themselves and where they come from. Despite the cancellation of the historical downtown walk, the Belleville Armouries had plenty of national and local history on display.
  4. The Public Library gave everyone the opportunity to find out more about their family history all weekend.
  5. Front Street was blocked off to traffic so there was plenty of room for people to be active.
  6. Booths were open to promote causes and organizations.
