Dell 12th Generation Servers - 2nd Wave

We released with some fanfare our initial 12th generations servers back at the beginning of March. Now it is time for the second wave!

  1. Big day! We're announcing 9 more #PowerEdge platforms, including the world's first 1/4 height blade. del.ly/6012rXjp #DoMoreIT
  2. First some interesting facts
The PowerEdge M620 is the worlds most power efficient blade server.
The PowerEdge M820 has the world's only four socket Fresh Air configurable full height blade server.
The PowerEdge M520 has more unrestricted Fresh Air deployment configurations than any other blade server in the world.
    And finally
The M1000e is home to the world's most power efficient blade servers for the past three generations and it is the only Chassis in the WORLD with the thermal engineering to support individually serviceable, enterprise-class, quarter-height blade servers.

Here are some of the awards from Wave 1
  3. •       “PC Pro Recommended” award “Verdict: Dell's latest is the classiest 1U rack server on the planet - and it’s top value too”

  4. IT Pro’s Editor’s Choice award: 6/6 star overall rating  “Verdict: As a general-purpose 2U rack server, the PowerEdge R720 looks capable of running any application that can be thrown at it.”
  5. PC Pro Recommended Award, 6/6 rating  Verdict - Versatility is the R720’s great strength, and it sets a high standard for 2U rack server design and features . . . All in all, the PowerEdge R720 is a fine rack server that delivers a strong package for the price. HP’s ProLiant DL380 has always been a standard setter for 2U rack server design, but even its eighth-generation model will have a tough time beating the Dell’s features.”
  6. Forrest Norrod, VP & GM - Next Gen Computing, announces the latest extension to the 12G range.
  7. All the benefits of a 4 socket server, with no compromise on power & performance. The R820 has that. del.ly/6019rXYz #DoMoreIT
  8. Hotter than a Hot Tub! Great Infographic on Dell Fresh Air enabled 12G server operating temperature range! -5c degrees  to +45c

I come from an IT management background but I now find myself working in marketing for Dell. Pretty interesting seeing things from the other side of the table.
