Priebus: IRS resignation 'scapegoat'
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Wednesday wasn’t impressed with President Barack Obama’s announcement that the acting head of the IRS had resigned.
In a Wednesday evening address, Obama said that Treasury Secretary Jack Lew had asked for, and received, the resignation of acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller in the wake of reports that the agency had singled out conservative groups for extra oversight.
But Obama needs to go further, Priebus said on Twitter, charging that the president still shoulders blame for the incidents for encouraging “targeting of these groups.” Here’s a look:
