PCMH Congress 2017: A Lot to Learn in 3 Days

The National Committee for Quality Assurance held the third annual PCMH Congress 2017 in Orlando, FL. PCMH Congress is the largest conference for clinician committed to the pursuit of transformation and recognition as a Patient-Centered practice.

  1. New this year: a pre-conference opportunity. This past December, NCQA updated thePCMH recognition program. It's a whole new ballgame with new standards, structure, scoring and processes. In order to help ease the transition, the pre-conference sessions explained how to transform practices from 2014 to the 2017 version.
  2. There were around 1,000 attendees at PCMH Congress: nurses, doctors, practice managers and many others that are dedicated to improving patient care.
  3. On Friday, key sessions included serving vulnerable populations, measuring primary care mental health implementation and leveraging PCMH to achieve value-based payment success as a small practice.
