Awards Preview: The Judges Twitter Panel

#emmawards

  1. Greetings everyone. So judges, tell us what trends or themes, if any, did you see from the entries you judged this year? #emmawards
  2. Hello! There were more international awards and lots of new faces which is encouraging. Gets us out of the echo chamber #emmawards
  3. Hi All....More emphasis was put on results. Which is great as it was about effectiveness! #emmawards
  4. By I also think that the results emphasis is a sign of of maturing industry. Hard nosed numbers, no longer pretty pics and apps #emmawards
  5. We're starting to see more apps deliver real utility rather than just testing the medium. Barclays Pingit is a good example #emmawards
  6. Better integrated solutions this year - e.g. Blippar tie up with Stylist magazine to trigger mPayments for featured products #emmawards
  7. Also, brands properly integrating launch of app or mobile service through all their media channels #emmawards
  8. Impressed to see better niche targeting - eg McDonalds cross media campaign #emmawards
  9. Yes, I agree that there was more evidence of joined up thinking and not just Let's YABA Do (Yet Another Branded App) #emmawards
  10. Overall, would you say the standard was higher or lower than last year? #emmawards
  11. Last year the quality of entries was superb and this year has built on that #emmawards
  12. I think we’re seeing more brands integrating mobile properly rather than having mobile bolted on as a box ticking exercise #emmawards
  13. Hard to say whether the standard was 'higher' or not. The campaigns seem more mature this year and more integrated #emmawards
  14. Good to see early evidence of brands using detailed analytics and conversion rate optimisation - e.g. Screwfix mCommerce service #emmawards
  15. This year's responses were more detailed and richer, more results as entrants move trial to mainstream #emmawards
  16. Responses prove that organisations are building developing services which users find useful and engaging #emmawards
  17. The results of the Lumia campaign were amazing, quite surprisingly. I wonder if they'll convert to purchase? #emmawards
  18. I really enjoyed seeing some smaller co's & brand's entries. They showed real initiative with their mobile marketing campaigns. #emmawards
  19. Lots of good examples of brands using more of what mobile has to offer (cont) #emmawards
  20. For example La Redoute combined gamification, AR and mCommerce to pretty good effect from engagement right through to purchase #emmawards
  21. Lumia campaign was the most impressive entrant of all, in my POV. Great way to switch allegiance among die-hard Apple fans. #emmawards
  22. Higher. Pleased that the standard of entries themselves were better too. Nothing worse than judging poorly written award entry #emmawards
  23. @russellbuckley some entries were still sub-standard - the campaigns could have been brilliant, but we'll never know cont.. #emmawards
  24. @russellbuckley cont.. as the forms lacked evidence or relevance to the category being entered. #emmawards
  25. I agree the quality of the entry submissions was much higher this year in general, thought there were a few lame ones as always #emmawards
