Penn State leaders concealed Sandusky allegations to protect school, report findsPHILADELPHIA - Driven in part by the powerful culture of its football program, the top leaders of Penn State University agreed to conceal...- Penn State should tear down the Joe Paterno statue. They should remove his name from anything and everything that is named for him. As far as the NCAA, they should place PSU football on probation, think USC level sanctions. Joe Paterno's wins from the time of the cover up until his final game last fall should be wiped from the record books.
- I have been a long-time fan of Penn State, so the recent acknowledgements of serious infractions directly and indirectly (by failing to remedy), have brought me to the following conclusions: 1. The statue of Joe Paterno on the PSU campus must come down. 2. The NCAA should impose the 'death penalty' on the football program for four years - one entire class. 3. PSU should setup and fund an independent victim fund to handle the many claims privately. 4. All athletic scholarships to be honored by PSU. 5. NCAA to allow any athlete (football or any sport) to transfer out of PSU without normal waiting-times. 6. For its inability to supervise the President and lead the University, the complete Board of Trustees must be replaced. 7. The NCAA to require ten years of supervision by the NCAA or designee; to make sure safeguards are created.
