Private-Public Collaboration to Fix Potholes in RI

Mashup of Media Coverage THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN GIVING RHODE ISLAND CITIES A FREE POTHOLE PATCHING MACHINE - IT'S ABOUT CHANGING RHODE ISLAND'S CULTURE

  1. Early feedback - as of this morning's survey responses, more than 1,283 potholes have been fixed using the VIBCO GR-1600 rollers we donated to RI cities and towns, and more than 95% of those repairs are completely intact.

We expect that number to grow dramatically as more responses come in. To give some perspective, that's already more than $54,000 in the handful of towns that have completed the survey so far.

  3. Potholes are a pain in the you-know-what. For everyone.  They're a costly, dangerous problem all around the world that affect everyone whether by foot, car or even wheelchair. Just look at what the headlines are saying:
  4. Potholes are a pain in the you-know-what. For everyone.
That's why VIBCO is GIVING away the equipment we manufacture to the cities and towns in our state. Potholes have a profound impact on economic, sociological, environmental, and physical condition of a region.  By fixing Rhode Island's roads, VIBCO Vibrators' goal is to encourage our state to leverage its unique strengths, characteristics and geographic "smallness" to rapidly develop a culture of collaboration and improvement. A Lean (and Pothole-Free) Rhode Island.
  5. How did our Pothole Repairs hold up during last weekend's flooding? See for yourself.

  6. Rhode Island receiving torrential rains during the last weekend in March, resulting in some areas of the state receiving more than 6" of rain. We went out on the road this morning to check to see how our pothole patches performed through the heavy rain.

The great news is that the VIBCO patches have held up beautifully, despite failing road conditions around the patch.

Our mission is to help fix Rhode Island's roads. We hope that our contribution to cities and towns will help to speed recovery from today's (and future) flooding. And we hope that what we are doing will inspire other Rhode Island businesses to consider how they can actively make a difference for our state.
