Hey, Reporters: There are Female Obama Staffers

Rolling Stone published an article with 10 people who helped win the election for President Obama. 10 "people" turned out to be 9 dudes and one woman. So, I'm making it easier on reporters. Here's some females who won the election for Obama.

  1. Reporters: are you so awkward you can't sleuth out female Obama staffers? They don't bite *except when you leave them out of articles.*
  2. My friend @MelissaRyan (herself an awesome female Obama staffer!) pointed something important out:
  3. @JessLivMo Female Obama staffers are also less likely to promote ourselves. And you've seen the backlash we get from our own when featured.
  4. Ten Obama staffers that won the election. This time with ladies in 3, 2, 1....
  5. 1) @jomalleydillon: Obama 2012's ground game may have been the genius of a couple of (great) dudes, but meet their boss. Dept. Campgn. Mngr.
  6. 2) Julianna Smoot Not on Twitter, but she's the head of the most successful fundraising operation in the history of American politics. #boom
  7. 3) @stefcutter Who says Ds can't get out the message? And she did all of it while under fire on disgusting personal attacks.
  8. 4) @Habershaw Low profile, high impact woman who's been around political operations for years and ran a very tight ship. Heart of gold :)
  9. 5) @sara_ela National Training Director for the campaign, she harnessed the energy of all those volunteers into mad skills
  10. 5) @jennb_jennb Field Director in Ohio. Now you know who you have to thank for those votes that made the difference.
  11. 6) @BetsyHoover Online Organizing Director who was one of the folks who led the Dashboard team
  12. 7) @ameliashowalter Director of Digital Analytics. It's pretty much THE story of the campaign, I don't need to tell you why she's important
  13. 8) @marthapatzer & @llholstj: They wrote a shit ton of those emails that made the campaign millions of dollars. Senior Email Writers
  14. 9) @emmyruiz NV General Election Director who paved the way for real change among Latino registration, etc for years to come in NV
  15. 10) @cld276, who oversaw and made sure a HOST of projects ran, included the much-ballyhooed Narwhal database.
  16. I could do an entire list of those for down-ticket races, on the IE side, on the voter registration side, etc.
  17. So, reporters: if you want to write a real story, call me up. Let's talk. I know some ladies you can talk to.
  18. And ladies who are awesome and work in campaigns: PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE. Because no one else is doing that shit for you.
  19. And you deserve every single ounce of klout, prestige, and success this campaign can offer you.
  20. /rant *for now* There's probably more reporting I can/will do on this. #changetheratio
  21. Actually <rant> reopened. Still not done. More thoughts and one more person!
  22. Bonus! 11: @lauraolin If there is a person in the world right now who runs better social media, find me that person.
  23. Bonus bonus 12_ @skinnycappucino who headed the team that wrote the incredible, never-ending stream of blog posts
  24. I could literally keep writing a list that goes on and on and on. There's a real story about the gigantic team of data ladies, too.
  25. so, just a couple more bonus ones so people understand how EGREGIOUS it is that these lists are all dudes

Did you find this story interesting? or comment as 9 already did!
