  3. Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell has made a bet against South Carolina Reps. Jim Clyburn and Joe Wilson on Monday's Outback Bowl when the University of Michigan plays the University of South Carolina. Dingell is wagering items from Ann Arbor's Zingerman’s Deli while Clyburn is wagering a basket of goodies from South Carolina and Wilson is offering up some South Carolina barbecue.
  4. “Coach Harbaugh and the Wolverines are laser focused on bringing home a win on New Year’s Day,” Dingell said.
  5. “We are grateful for the Gamecocks’ continued success, we are excited to see them back in the Outback Bowl, and we look forward to another victory over Michigan,” Wilson said.
  6. The game is at noon on New Years Day in Tampa, Florida.

  9. Burr on the Belk Bowl

  10. Wake Forest plays Texas A&M in the Belk Bowl on Friday and Sen. Richard Burr is cheering on the North Carolina team.

  11. Fiesta Bowl trash talk

  12. Sens. Bob Casey and Maria Cantwell have agreed to a friendly wager on the outcome of the Fiesta Bowl, in which is Penn State takes on the University of Washington on Saturday, and Casey is kicking off the trash talk.
  13. “While I’d love for my colleague to try some of Pennsylvania’s finest ice cream, I have total confidence in the Nittany Lions ability to beat the Huskies,” he said. “I look forward to watching Penn State complete their season with a win.”
  14. The Senator with the losing team will deliver a home state product to the other.

  16. C-SPAN compiled a list of 2017's Top Five Congressional Speechmakers based on the number of days each gave floor remarks over the year. Rep. Glenn 'GT' Thompson came in first place and he spoke 122 days. In the Senate, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell came in first place and he spoke 147 days.
