David Barr Sr. Passed Away Nov. 7

The captain with Community Fire Company of Perryville was 65.

  1. It is with sadness, that we post the Line of Duty Death of a Brother Firefighter from our area. Fire Police Captain, David Barr, of the Community Fire Company of Perryville, Maryland, in Cecil County, passed away this morning. He has been in the hospital since being struck by a vehicle, at the scene of a traffic accident in Perryville. Our condolences to the Barr family and to the members of the Community Fire Company of Perryville Maryland.
  2. Today at 11:11am a wonderful husband, father, son and friend took the final ride as a true and unbelievable hero. Lieutenant David R Barr Jr has answered his final call. May you watch over and protect us now and forever. We love you and miss you.

  4. It is with deep regret we announce the Line of Duty Death of Lieutenant (ret) David Barr. Mr. Barr died as a result of injuries obtained while performing his duties as a Captain with the Community Fire Company of Perryville, MD. on the scene of a vehicle accident on October 25, when he was struck by another car and has been in intensive care since. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
  5. The Men and Women of the Cecil County Sheriff's Office send our deepest sympathies to the family of Fire Fighter David Barr Sr. and The Community Fire Company of Perryville on his tragic loss.

  7. Last month we made a post stressing the importance of the job that the Fire Police volunteers do. We highlighted the dangers they take on when trying to direct traffic, keeping the rest of the volunteers safe. We are so deeply saddened that one of the Fire Police volunteer Heroes from the Community Fire Company of Perryville has died from his injuries sustained from being hit by a motor vehicle almost two weeks ago, while he was directing traffic. The members at the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun want to let Mr. Barr's family, and his family at the Community Fire Company of Perryville know that our thoughts are with all of you at this time of sorrow.
