DC United Fans Reaction To MLS Playoff Swap

On Thursday, Major League Soccer announced that due to Hurricane Sandy, DC United and the New York Red Bulls would swap their playoff hosting order. Since this means that United have essentially sacrificed their home field advantage, DC United fans expressed their displeasure on Twitter.

  1. @amorrissey This is bullshit. MLS definitely pushed this on #DCU. They want the stars of NYRB to advance.
  2. Perhaps this whole playoff clusterfuck is simply a way to divide DC United's greatest strength: the supporters. #conspiracytheories
  3. Ah, fuck it. You go to the playoffs with the Mickey Mouse soccer league you have, not the professional soccer league you pay for. #dcu
  4. They didn't cancel the NYC marathon this weekend? They didn't reschedule the NFL games? But they can't host MLS? Fishy!! #dcu
  5. "Compassion" for NYRB is a red herring to keep games on TV at pre-set times and help (again) the big-market team. Could have delayed. #DCU
  6. man i thought taking the kid trick or treating would make me less mad, but i am still furious about the changing of the #dcu game
  7. @nffc65 I feel like a bad fan for not being that mad, but this clusterfuck league has pulled so much garbage, I'm just like, whatever. #dcu
  8. Guess not RT @drickelini: Reading conversations u had with some #DCU fans is depressing. They really have no idea how bad it is up here
  9. @SoccerInsider ticketmaster wont refund any tickets. they said you lied in you piece from last night
  10. How do I get a job with #MLS? because apparently they allow their employees work schedules to change with only 3 days notice. #DCU
  11. See ya next season, #DCU friendos. I'll watch on TV but no way I'm giving @dcunited or @mls any more $ this year.
