Some news outlets get Supreme Court ruling wrong

In breaking news, speed is king and with a complex decision to interpret, multiple news organizations including CNN and Fox News initially reported an incorrect ruling.

  1. Correction: The Supreme Court backs all parts of President Obama’s health care law. on.cnn.com/LvVRcK
  2. UM. Trying to find most appropriate way to express this. Perhaps: #%*@! And I am mortified about passing on bad info. Deep apologies.
  3. Dear CNN: Perhaps you should reconsider your decision to drop the AP. Just sayin'.
  4. RT @davidfolkenflik: Fox News joined CNN on this one (and how often can you say that?) http://pic.twitter.com/aJdhn985
  5. Dianne Rehm on NPR just said mandate struck down, but other tweets, @SCOTUSblog saying it survived?!?!
  6. Whoops! Here are the deleted tweets of politicians who went with CNN's initial report: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_iVG-mwSsiwJ:politwoops.sunlightfoundation.com/+http://politwoops.sunlightfoundation.com
  7. CNN makes daft mistake; Twitter races to find witty/sarcastic one-liners to mock. And keeps mocking. And mocking...
  8. Instant analysis is tempting. But you may see fewer Tweets from us early on as we analyze #SCOTUS health care ruling.
