Federal Student Aid has launched some exciting new tools on StudentAid.gov to help students through the financial aid process. On July 25th, we hosted #AskFAFSA Office Hours to highlight the new features and to help you take advantage of our new tools. Here is the full session:

  2. With the launch of studentaid.gov, what kind of info can people find on the new site? #AskFAFSA
  3. A1:StudentAid.gov has info about every step of the #financialaid process, from preparing for college to repaying your loans. #AskFAFSA
  4. A2: Videos & infographics that answer common questions simply & quickly. Examples: 1.usa.gov/PnuqXG & 1.usa.gov/Q4LDm7 #AskFAFSA
  5. A3: Direct URL for @FAFSA is fafsa.gov but you can learn about filling it out (& get to it) at 1.usa.gov/PnuqXG #AskFAFSA
  6. A4: Yes, there's info about types of loans at 1.usa.gov/QjyKdN and about how to make a payment, etc at studentaid.ed.gov/repay-loans. #AskFAFSA
  7. A5: There are a number of items that we hope parents will find useful. Get started at 1.usa.gov/OEFKux #AskFAFSA
  8. Q6: The new Financial Awareness Counseling tool just launched on studentloans.gov. What does the tool do? #AskFAFSA
  9. A6:FACT is an interactive tool to help you understand your financial aid, manage your finances & repay loans: 1.usa.gov/N0r7XB #AskFAFSA
  10. A6(2): If you log in, FACT pulls YOUR federal student loan info & can notify schools you completed financial awareness counseling. #AskFAFSA
  11. A7: FACT offers tips on reducing debt & shows how the repayment plan you choose will impact the total amount you'll pay. #AskFAFSA
  12. A7(2): FACT even suggests a minimum target income you'd need to earn in order to be able to afford your student loan payments. #AskFAFSA
