Shia LaBeouf's plagiarism scandal

It all started on December 17, when people noticed the short film LaBeouf posted online (HowardCantour.com), was actually a ripoff of author Daniel Clowe's graphic novel Justin M. Damiano.

  2. LaBeouf eventually apologized (by plagiarizing other people's apologies)  in a series of posts on his Twitter account.
  3. Comedian Patton Oswalt wasn't sympathetic:
  4. LaBeouf's tweets continued through to the end of the month.
  5. When the tweeting didn't shift the public outrage, LaBeouf took to the skies to apologize to Clowe.

  8. Seemingly to taunt Clowes, LaBeouf later posted a storyboard for a movie he called Daniel Boring. Daniel Clowe has a comic strip called David Boring.
