Pinterest for Business #AIMSCdaChat

In our 3rd weekly Twitter chat, Margarita Ibbitson joined us for a chat on using Pinterest for Business. Scroll to end for useful links.

  1. Did you know that #Pinterest was the fastest growing social network to get to 10 million users? #AIMSCdaChat
  2. Doesn't surprise me that #Pinterest grew so quickly - has things that other soc media is lacking #AIMSCdaChat
  3. Why do people like Pinterest so much?
  4. @BrianBlatnicki I think it has a lot to do with visual stimulation. You don't have to write a lot just look #AIMSCdaChat Why do you like it?
  5. I love #Pinterest because it's so visual and because of its permanence as compared to other soc media #AIMSCdaChat
  6. I love the stunning visuals. And being able to group things together. #AIMSCdaChat
  7. I love it personally because it provides permanent a collection of ideas. TW is a fast running stream & FB is semi-permanent #AIMSCdaChat
  8. The other thing I like about Pinterest is comments are grouped and if it's been pinned properly it links to the source #AIMSCdaChat
  9. @BrianBlatnicki: @DownshiftingPOS hmm, think it's so popular because it frees us from incessant updates and check-ins? #AIMSCdaChat
  10. How does Pinterest differ from other social networks like Facebook or Twitter especially?
  11. @downshiftingpos I completely agree. FB goes too fast, and then due to volume it's really gone after a day or two max. #aimscdachat
  12. I love being able to organize things the way I want them on #Pinterest - on FB we have to accept the way they choose to do it #AIMSCdaChat
  13. The big stat that's been restated about Pinterest is the traffic it generates: more than LinkedIn, Youtube and Google+ combined.
  14. Growing for me but I'm a fairly small blog RT @DownshiftingPOS: Have you seen an increase in traffic when using Pinterest? #AIMSCdaChat
  15. For other bloggers I know, some have seen as much as a 400% increase in traffic & can attribute it back to #Pinterest #AIMSCdaChat
  16. I think it's very important to make your blog posts/sites etc "pinnable" - ie really attractive images that compel ppl to pin #AIMSCdaChat
  17. Being such a visual medium, you would think brands could come up with lots of ways to engage users.
  18. What business uses have you seen? Whether it's to engage customers, promotions, etc? And what ideas would you like to try? #AIMSCdaChat
  19. Agree! RT @DownshiftingPOS: many think that #Pinterest is a chick thing but I disagree, its a Brands best wish for promotion. #AIMSCdaChat
  20. There are businesses I have seen who ask you to build boards based on their products, then they choose 1 or more for prizes #AIMSCdaChat
  21. Great way to get customers to really look through their product line AND to promote it to others for them! #AIMSCdaChat
  22. Some businesses are doing #Pinterest only specials - you have to follow their boards to find out what deal of week is #AIMSCdaChat
  23. Companies are using it to bring customers to their websites to close the deal! #AIMSCdaChat
  24. Can see some pretty beautiful art, pictures, scenery, inspirational boards and not just biz boards #AIMSCdaChat
