1. To open the all-members section of the conference on Thursday 6 July, Alison Michalska, ADCS President, delivered her presidential address. In her speech, Alison touched on the need to create a country that works for all children, funding and regard for public services, schools and sector-led improvement of vital services for children and families and much more.
  2. After lunch, delegates heard from Robert Goodwill MP, the new Minister of State for Children and Families, for the first time on his now role and priorities for the DfE going forward.
  3. Then we welcomed Kerry Littleford, a public health practitioner from Hackney, who is an 'expert by experience,' Mark Owers, co-reviewer, fostering stocktake and Andrew Christie, Chair of the Adoption Leadership Board to the stage for an interesting session on permanence.
