Higher Education Leaders Gather in Washington for ACE's 95th Annual Meeting
William E. Kirwan, chancellor of the University System of Maryland, opened ACE’s 95th Annual Meeting March 3 with the Robert H. Atwell Lecture, “The Completion Imperative: Harnessing Change to Meet Our Responsibilities.”
ACE's latest report, On the Pathway to the Presidency, was released at the meeting. A selection of 149 four-year higher education institutions tracked between 2008 and 2013 showed slight increases in the age and gender diversity of senior administrators holding positions that often lead to the presidency but no change in the share of racial and ethnic minorities in these roles.
- Diana Natalicio, president of University of Texas at El Paso, named new ACE Board chair
- David Brooks spoke at Monday morning's plenary session on "The Social Animal Goes to School."
