1. The march began early in the morning at 5:30am. The Philippines has been experiencing extreme heat and drought lately. So part of the reason to start early was to escape the afternoon sun.

The Philippine government is part of the COP21 agreement aimed at reducing carbon emissions by 2020 thus reducing the global temperature by 1.5 degrees celsius. Several local governments in the country including Batangas started exploring the benefits of renewable energy such as solar energy with hopes that bigger private corporations will invest more funds yo tap into renewable energy sources which the Philippines is very much rich of.   3. After the march they gathered for a mass led by local Catholic leaders. Many Catholic leaders have been very outspoken against coal, including Archbishop Ramon Arguelles is the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Lipa in the province of Batangas.
